I like the songs, but I can’t seem to find the one you said that you wrote about me. What was that about 3 years ago.
The morning dawn is breaking
As I set here in this chair
And think of all the good times
That you and me have shared
Though these times are drifting on
As age creeps upon on me, you see
And one day these memories
Will be all that is left of me
The lemon and tan beagles
That I always loved so dear
Will one day be in heaven for only me to hear
All you will set and think about
The days of hunting cottontails in the cold wet snow
And how your uncle was so proud as his beagles put on a show
The times and fun in my backyard
As you, learn to shoot a bow
And all the crazy things we did
That is just for us to know
The nights that we talked into the morning hours
Will just be memories that you will have of me
The days of deer hunting will be a thing of the past
And I hope that these memories will always last
So when you are setting there with nothing on your mind
That you will hear them beagle hounds
And how they love to whine
All remember how they hunted
And I will be there too
And when my time has come there’s only one thing to say
Is I hope you have a nephew as great as you someday
Memories some day
