A Little Rain J. Clark
Amy was just 19, full of dreams and aspirations
She had a plan after she graduated
She was gonna conqure the world
But life got fast coming into a mid-life curve
She mashed the gas and she tried to swerve
And ended up in the bar ditch of this one horse town
Now it's six nights a week down at the local diner
Baby sitter calls, her little man's scared of the thunder
She tells him not to worry it's just a little rain
She says
Bring on the storm
Bring on the rain
give me a huricane
Let the lighting light up the sky
like the fourth of July
I can handle anything
Life ain't always a sunny day
you take the pleasure with the pain
It ain't nothing but a little rain
Johnny was a hard worker, good with his hands
Plowing, tilling and working his land
looking for a good crop year after year
But drought sat in and debt started to grow
the clouds would build and the four winds would blow
but the only thing falling is the gavel of the auctioneer
Now he's got sleepless nights that seem so long
His wife is faithful and her faith is strong
She tells him not to worry about a little rain
She says
Bring on the storm
Bring on the rain
give me a huricane
Let the lighting light up the sky
like the fourth of July
I can handle anything
Life ain't always a sunny day
you never know what will come your way
It ain't nothing but a little rain
