The house is nearing completion, the kids started school, and we’ve been packing and getting things for the new house. It has been full blast for us…so read on for the somewhat funny details.

We’ll start with the kids and school. Keagan is in the 3rd grade this year and we have determined that she just does not want to give any real effort on her homework. So, we have began a remedy for that…it is called “Can’t do anything until your homework is completed – correctly – and you do 10 math problems a night regardless of homework”. Nice title don’t ya think?

She has been doing much better now that she realizes that it is up to her to learn it. Her talking back, which she does so subtlety, has began to stop as well. She has had some encouragement, though she has not really met with the newest tool in the house… oh yes the tool….well I will go into that in a moment.

Kaden – oh boy…he is 3 years old and yes, he is adorable…but he also got kicked out of day care last week. Yup, KICKED OUT OF DAY CARE. How the hell do you get out of day care do you ask…well you continue to bite other kids, drawing blood, until they decide they do not want to put up with it anymore.

Yes, he has been biting, but learned not to do it at the house anymore because of the repercussions. I guess he thought he would take out his frustration and hunger strike on the kids at school. Soooo…he is the reason the new family tool was brought home.

The tool…is a thin 5 gallon paint stir stick. It was like a miracle tool. A couple whacks with it, and wow! After he got over the initial shock, I talked with him and we went back to the living room for some fun time. He was playing in the floor, and talking out loud to himself, saying “I just don’t know… my teeth don’t work anymore…I just can’t bite”. I had to hold back the want to laugh, and then began thinking…”did I spak him that hard?” None the less, he is fine, and does not want to meet the stick again.

So, it started off as a thin pain stir stick, but a trip to Hobby Lobby with my wife was near spiritual. I was looking at picture frames, when I heard her call me from behind. I turn around to she her holding a beautiful 22 inch long, 4 inch wide, half inch thick, sanded solid oak paddle. The kind like they used on us backing school. You remember….”put you hands on the desk James…you getting 3 lick for shoot Mrs.??? In the rear with a rubber band.” Oh yes, it was nice, I bought it, and showed our lovely children the new tool. All Kaden could say was a sorrowful “nooooo”.

Hopefully it will never have to be used, can hang on the wall, and be a part of the family that has to never be called on. We’ll see!

So, apart from the chillin beatin’ , we’ve been packing and preparing for the big move in. Yes it is getting close. In approximately two weeks we’ll be ready to move in. We have decided to do some painting and stuff before any furniture gets moved in though. So it has been buy this light fixture, get this color paint, and that color paint, get tape, boxes, drop cloth, French Doors for the play room, etc. etc. We look like we are traveling nomad pack rats! We’re almost ready though. Trying to recruit some friends for the moving party…LOL Call or email if you would like to attend.

On top of that, we’ve tried to find time to enjoy a few movies on our new TV’s. We got a nice Samsung 46” LCD to hang on the wall of the new crib, and a little 20” for the bedroom or kitchen…have not decided.

Anyway, I’ll try to post more often when we slow down a bit….which seems like it will be months after we move in and get comfortable. LOL

Until then…

Well, we’ve been a bit busy here lately.
