Survived the rain – waiting on more…

Seems like the wet season might be upon us. It is welcome, after the years of drought we have had. I just wish it would not all come at once. My garden was hit pretty hard. Need to make plans for that next year (hoop house?).

I went and helped my good friend William a little last weekend. He is a builder/remodeler “do it all” kind of guy. He needed an extra hand to assist him with some awnings he was building. Took us a couple days, but turned out nice I think. It was nice to get out and do something out of the norm for me. You can see the pictures of them in the gallery below.

Kaden’s chickens are doing well. Today was the last day of school and he is excited to spend more time with them. I painted his sign for the coop today before I went and picked him up. He liked it.

Granny Jo and Pawpaw Man came in and he showed them the “girls” before they even sat down. He has been feeding them grower since they were chicks, and now he has started giving them some scratch daily and a few meal worms on occasion. When they reach 18 weeks, or start laying, we will switch to layer feed. They are 11 1/2 weeks old right now.

A friend of mine from back in high school (and before) was out in Lubbock on business. He came by and we visited until midnight. It was good to see him. He told some stories on me that were not true by any means (my blog – my story). Ava missed him this morning when she woke – she said “Oh no Daddy…Joey ran far away”.

Today is the 9th year anniversary for Jace and I. We plan on celebrating with a  night out since Granny and Pawpaw are here to entertain the kiddos.

Other than that – we weathered the storms and we are getting ready for a few more.  Enjoy the pics.
