Long time no hear from…

Got to hear form an old friend today who is stationed at Lajes AFB on the Azores island of Portugal, which is basically smack dab in the middle of no where. LOL Been a while since I last heard from him. In fact the last time he called I was in the studio about to record a guitar track, so that conversation got cut short. LOL

He said he would be coming home soon, and would be stationed out in San Angelo, TX. Now that is more like it. I can actually drive there to visit if I want. (My Ford just won’t float that far now.) He is a K-9 security officer for the USAF and has been in for about 10 years now. We’ve been friends since back in the school days, and are almost like family.

We’ve started planning a little trip to San Angelo when he comes in. We’re gonna check out the base, maybe head up to Carlsbad, do some hiking. Be a good little get a way.

On another note… the band has some new members coming in. This has yet to be annouced on our band’s web site, so you are getting inside information. Whoo hoo! Yup, we have a new drummer and a new backup guitarist. They both are a needed part of the band, so we can’t wait to hit some gigs with them. We still have the ‘Nixter’, but until he gets closer to East Texas, well, we’ll need someone to fill those shoes best they can. Ya’ll put up some prayers that he and his family get a chance for transfer to this area.

This post is mainly cause my friend in the USAF said i needed a new post on the site, so this ones for him. Leave ya’ll with a little story I come across on the www, until the next mindless ramble:

This week, my phone went dead and I had to contact the telephone repair people. They promised to be out between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
When I asked if they could give me a smaller timewindow, the pleasant gentleman asked, “Would you like us to call you before we come?”
I replied that I didn’t see how he would be able to do that, since our phones weren’t working. He also requested that we report future outages by email.
I asked him, “Does YOUR email work without a telephone line?”

LOL got to love the customer service folks!
God Bless,
JC
