What day is it?

Wow, it has been a while since I have had to pull these hours. Been working 12 hour shifts all week this week. Praise God, only one more to go. Thought I would post some things I did this weekend.

Saturday we took the youth to Six Flags to ride some rides and catch the One Voice concert with Casting Crowns, FFH, and Stephen Curtis Chapman. It was hot, and people everywhere.
On the way up there we were talkng about how long it had been since we were last at Six Flags. Well come to find out my last trip was…somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 to 20 years ago. Thats crazy! LOL
As we were walking in, some folks asked us if we were youth ministers…we said yes and they gave us some passes to a special “talk back” with the bands and all. We let the youth take off in small groups and made our way to the little meeting. They had some free materials for music ministry, free drinks, and some speaking going on. Then Casting Crowns came out and shared some of there thoughts with us. It was nice to see how humble they were. I got to meet each one personally, which was nice.
I did not ride any rides for the fact that the shortest line we found was over an 80 minute wait. Sorry, 80 minutes for a 3 minute ride. Hmmmmm, nope, think I will go see a show or something. LOL
We went to the concert. It rocked! I thought Casting Crowns performance was awesome. It was a high caliber worship service with 10,000 folks!
I of course was dancing (well thats what I call it anyway) and acting like an idiot as normal. We had a really great time. A friend of mine got me a shirt reading, “OC – Overly Caucasin Do not place on dance floor” yeah she and everyone else thought that was funny. LOL Got home around 3AM.
The band is really getting blessed with chances to play. We have 2 shows in August, 2 shows in September, 2 in October, and 1 in November so far. This is awesome, and I am ready to jam! Whoo hoo.
Well, about to get off work, go home and freshen up to go see the doctor.
Later,
JC
