Long, Fun, weekend!!!!!!!

Wow what a weekendand a wellweek! folks.it is finally hitting me.I am TIRED! The band got together to record some tracks and wellall went fairly welljust some long hours.

We started late (9PM) on a Wed. setting all the equipment up. Was finished setting everything up around midnight. There was a small learning curve with the new Cubase software, which we had never used before, not to mention the new equipment.

We got a late start Thursday morning on the actual recording session, because Stephen had to work half a day, but the rest of us were up at 8 AM and in the studio. We ended up recording 4 songs on Thursday. Reaching the goal we had set out for. We feel it was a bit of a rush, but we can do over dubs if need be. We finally retired for the night somewhere around 3:30 AM. Nick, Edwin, and I slept at the church in the youth roomthankfully they had 3 couches in there. LOL

Friday morning.up early and ready to go againcouple cups of coffee, couple red bulls and get tuned up. I came up with a not so bright idea of trying another way to wire up the monitors. Well it was worth a shot since everyone was gripping about their mix. Anyway no big loss since we were not going to be able to start until Stephen got there. None the less long day and night we ended up with another 4 songs recorded.

Saturday, we decided we would go ahead and tear down. We needed a break, and knew it by then. We had re-worked one of the songs ( not mentioned so it will be a surprise to some of you) but decided we would try to record it at a later date.

So now it will be a few months of trying our best to master the songs ourselves, get them all arranged and ready to go to the press LOL We hope when it is finished you all will enjoy it.

We learned some valuable lessons too:
1. allow more time for recording sessions one two songs a day
2. know how to wire everything and how to use the software
3. when doing over dubs everyone else leave except the guy running the board and the one doing the dub
4. get a good nights sleep, and some good meals in between
5. dont try to stay up with a supplement of Red Bulls and coffee. LOL
6. did I mention take more time to record and get some sleep?

None the less, we feel it will be a good starting point for the CD. IF we end up having to re-record, so be it.

Saturday night Nick and I were invited to Sunnys (nicks sister-in-law) baby showerguys were invited tooLOL I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I was introduced to an attractive girl that works with Sunny and whos name I can now actually remember (thanks Pepper for the tip on remembering the name LOL). I also got to see some old friends that I had not talked to in a long while (Dinger!)

We had a great time visiting with Peppers grandmother that night, where we spent the night. Whooo hooo I actually got to sleep in a real bed for the first time in 4 days. We played piano, sang songs(I was granted with my request for the Termite songthanks Dot!) all I can say is I am glad we dont drinkit might have gotten scarier than it was LOL! Pepper busted out Thats Amore` LOL

Anyway. It is now Tuesday andwell I am about to die I am so tired.guess it is a 3 day onset of fatigue. LOL I better get to work now. Been typing this for too long!

God Bless….until later,
JC
