Weekend brief – Technology…cool..and dangerous!

stoney.jpgWell, I had a good weekend this weekend. Went to Andrews and visited a friend. We went out to a concert in Odessa with HoneyBrowne and Stoney Larue. The weather was horrible, ice, snow, and idiots that can not drive. Then I read the morning news…ok…I had to say something.

First, I’ll talk about my weekend. Jace and I went out to the Sand hills rodeo and got to watch HoneyBrowne and Stoney Larue in concert. They were good as usual. I have to say that HoneyBrowne was better this time than the last time I had seen them. Stoney rocked as usual. So it was a good show, just wish there would not have been so many minors there and the weather would have been better.

Trying to dance was hilarious, because you had to dodge all the teenagers that were standing in front of the stage and the middle of the dance floor. Guess they were waiting for Stoney to jump off stage and body surf.  TABC was all over the place, which was a good thing I guess.
I drove home yesterday, later then I really wanted too…but the roads got pretty bad out in this part of the country. Ice and snow…and other idiots on the road. I did a little 40 mph 540, but kept it between the lines…eerrrr….shoulders. Made it home safe and sound, just took a little longer. I did make it back in time to go over to Nick’s and let him watch Boon Dock Saints for the first time.
Now we go ADD and change subjects…. The iPhone.
iphone.jpgThe new Apple iPhone. It is cool, yes I want one, and yes it is causing a storm of mixed reviews in the media. All I can say is just sit back, wait, and let’s see how it impacts the mobile device industry. Apple did not invent the mp3 player, but they sure changed how everyone else builds theirs. Apple did not invent the mobile phone….but I bet there will be a change in how some are built now.
…Ok…ADD again. I hear my little people telling me I am a geek…wait one just called me a dork.
I wake up this morning…go through the morning ritual, and get to read the news headlines. I had to read the story titled:
“A Sacramento County woman died over the weekend from water intoxication after participating in a radio contest called “Hold Your Wee for a Wii.”

Sorry, I know I am probably somewhat cruel, but I found it a bit funny. Really, just go buy one. Save your pennies until you have enough, and go buy one. Death is going a little far to win a contest prize like that.

Oh, yeah. Just so all the nosey people can know. My brother Jack is getting married. It is a good thing. She is a pretty cool girl. We’ll see if she can hang with a Clark boy though!

Anyway, I am off here….until next time.
