Packing, Planning & Scheduling

It is a funny thing – packing, planning and scheduling – it is weird how much a part of life it is…or my life, I should say. With a wedding, new house being built, vacation, honeymoon, moving, etc. Yeah…if I make it through this year…I will consider myself…uhh…prueba de la bala!

So here is how my last few months, weeks, and days have been.

Jace and I got engaged. That was great, yes I thought about it…long and hard. I think we are great together. We both know the adjustments to come, and have been down a road like this before. I know we’ll do fine.

Then with the engagement we found we needed to set a wedding date and plan a wedding. Jace was kind enough to allow me to influence her into having a very small and short wedding. None of the fancy dancy tuxes dresses, groomsmen, brides maids, flowers, invitations, pictures, etc. We opted for a dress casual, her house in Andrews, my parents and hers, and get the vows said, slap some rings on, kiss, and then eat and visit everyone.Because of passports, and other crap…we’ve decided to push the date of teh wedding way up…we’ll be getting married on May 26th…this year. Heck it is gonna happen…wo cares when – right? We’ll have a reception thingy in Lufkin, so everyone can come eat for free. LOL

We decided we would take the kids to Sea World before we leave for our honeymoon. This way we can still have vacation with them. We are going to Jamaica with a couple friends for our honeymoon. A place called Couples Sans Souci (http://www.couples.com/14cs/40-TL-Award.htm).

It will be the one bedroom beachfront jacuzzi suite. Right on the beach. Our friends have been there for their honeymoon nearly 5 years ago and said it is very nice. They invited me to go last year when they started planning this…said I would need to take someone since it was a couples resort…little did I know I would have a wife then. Guess I messed up a heck of a pick up line huh? “Hey babe…I need someone to go to Jamaica with me. How ‘bout you?” LMAO

All the while doing this, we have been getting her house ready to sale, put it on the market, going over plans for a house to build, then changing them a million times, picking out a lot in Lubbock, changing our minds again, pick out another lot,….Oh the joys! We will be picking out tile, granite, and colors next week. Her house was on the market about 4 days and is already under contract. So we’ve been really blessed there….or cursed if you think about all the packing and crap we’ll have to do. I think we have decided on hiring movers. Thank God.

Sooo… we’ve been going through stuff at our houses now, getting rid of things we don’t want or need anymore. Packing what we can as we go along, to make the transition a little easier…we hope.

Then we’ve got the normal day to day stuff – kids, work, and sleep. So yeah, this is my excuse as to why I might not be calling, blogging, or even remotely in contact with most of you.

I’ll be taking pictures of the house as it comes together and the different stages of the process. I’ll make a movie of them all at the end – once we’re moved in and half way settled. So, don’t expect that real soon….just wait on the post to be made here about it.

I have put some plans and other pictures here for everyone to view. Let us know what you think…even though it is pretty much a done deal…LOL I don’t think either one of us (Jace or I) want to change another thing. The house will be 2972 sq. ft …and my future loving awesome wife is letting me continue my passion for music by letting me have the gameroom and a small bedroom on the upstairs. She freakin’ rocks! I can’t wait until we are moved in and can sit down and enjoy a movie together, or invite some friends over for some grill and drinks. It will be nice to actually have a place where people can come over…the ghetto I live in now…is just too small and well…it is the ghetto.

Also in all the spare time I had at night…I redesigned the blog a little bit. I got a new MacBook, which has a nice wide screen. I wanted to make my blog resize to fill it. So this is what I came up with for now. It still as few changes to be made. Also, Jace is starting to blog now…Man it is great that she wants to be just like me. LMAO!
