Family Reunion

Well we had a little Due side family get-to-get-her. It was nice to see some of the family that I have not seen in a while.

One thing I could have done without – all of us could have done without – was the humidity. I don’t know how I ever lived here before. Just standing there visiting with family – I was drenched with sweat – running down my back all the way to my ankles. I will rent scuba gear next time I am down so I can breath better.

It was nice to see all the cousins, Uncles & Aunts, etc. Everyone seemed in good health and life was treating everyone pretty good best anyone would let on anyway. All the kids were trying to figure out who was who. Some of them have really grown up.

Oh yes, and there was the eats. We had brisket, chicken, ham, all the fixings…and Matt – Matt brought crawfish and shrimp. He boiled it up right there. Man I could not wait to get some of them mudbugs!

I could not stay to eat the mudbugs with them, since we drove momma out there. Mom, Jace, and the kids were ready for some A/C and get out of the humid East Texas weather. So, Matt was nice enough to let me grab some bugs to go! I grabbed a little styrofoam “to-go” box, but Matt said use this! and handed me a pretty good size bowl. Whoo hoo!. I filled it, covered it in plastic wrap and jumped in the van.

When I got home, to my luck, no one else wanted to help me eat them. Keagan pealed a few for me and ate one. She said they were too spicey. Just the way I like ’em!

Anyway, I need a good nap now and relax before we head out again in the morning for Lubbock. If you go to the Photo page on my blog, you can view a few shots under Family.
