Houston Town

Well another trip for work this week. This time Houston, which beats the pants off of Oklahoma. Sorry Okies! I mean, as I said the training was great in OK, but the living arrangments were a little rough. Texas is taking care of me though. Thank God for Texas!

I am here this week on the University of Houston campus for an ISA training course. So far it is a good course and all the folks in the class are easy to get along with. I’ve been told I am not shy around people…so I made some quick friends while I was here. Which makes it easier on all of us as far as what to do while away from home.  I’ve been to a few places where no one wanted to talk or go eat….and that makes for a bad time.

I am staying on campus at the Hilton. It is a nice place, with a nice bed. Especially after that bed I had in Oklahoma. I think pavement would have been better than that bed though. It is nice to be right here on campus. I can just walk across the campus everyday to class and not have to worry with the rental car, parking garage, etc. One of the big jokes down here is that you have to pay for everything. Pay to get out of the parking garage, pay for every meal, pay for a parking permit to park anywhere else on campus, pay for the coffee. LOL Guess I am with a bunch of “Continetal Breakfast” fans. LOL

I actually have some folks that are staying in the Hilton with me that drive to class every morning. Which means they pay to park at the hotel, then paid for a parking pass…everyday. Crazy. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk across the campus from the hotel to class.

I brought my guitar this time, I will never travel without it again. I about went stir crazy in Oklahoma without it. I played a lot last night since yesterday’s lunch had my stomach a little sour. I couldn’t sleep…so I played, wrote, and finally gave in to the bed.

Speaking of illness. Jace has been a little busy at the house with Kaden. He seems to have picked up a little bug somewhere. I’ll let Jace give you the details, but my boy has been sick. Bad sick. She said he is doing better.

Well I will close this one short, need to hit the shower and see if I can find something sweet to eat. Got a sweet craving going on. Call the wife back, play guitar and flip through the channels, then hit it. 3 more days to go.
