Life

Wow, what a week

As a lot of you know, I’ve been sick off and on in the last few months. This last little bout with the “crud” had me down pretty hard for almost the entire week. The doctor has not narrowed it down to what it is exactly, but I do feel a little better. I should get the results of all the tests today or tomorrow. But enough of that, I had some family over this weekend and what to write about that instead.

My Uncle Paul (from my dad’s side) and Aunt Barbara came in this weekend. It is always good to see them. They had called last week to say they were coming by and to make sure it was ok to bring their dog. When the kids got word of the dog, all I heard was how we need one. My first thoughts were – Great! Just what we need – another mouth to feed, something else for me to clean up in the yard… Now don’t get me wrong. I love dogs, I just really wanted to wait until we had a place with a little more room to roam (outside – where the dog should be).

So I may be leaning toward the dog thing and if I do it will not be one of those little petite things that go “yipe, yipe”. LOL We’ll see.

I was a little worried that with me being down sick I would not get to visit with my family. However, by the time they arrived Friday. I was feeling much better. Plus since we mostly hung around the house and talked, it worked out great. Jack, Lyndsi, and Carter came over through out the weekend to visit as well, which was fun.

We went out to eat on Saturday – they treated us – Sweeeet! Sunday night we grilled out at our house. Jack brought the secret sauce, which was pretty good.

We took some time to record a few songs with Uncle Paul. He brought some CD backing tracks he uses at the church singings. He had been down with a little cold the week before and still on medicine, but they came out fine. He was not completely happy with his own performance, but we all know we’re our own worse critic usually.

I still want to try and get everyone in my family/friends that sings, writes, or plays and instrument together several times for my little “Living Room Sessions” project. I figure we’ll do some original songs, old gospel, and country – stuff we would normally do when every one is around. Some of the songs that Uncle Paul recorded were what I had in mind. I guess I need to get off my butt and get that project rolling before everyone gets too dang old to move or sing. LOL

Not a long post, since I am still feeling very tired and have a splitting headache at the moment, but that’s what I wanted to remember – now it is forever recorded in my little blog. I’ll post some pictures a little later. Keep me in your prayers on this illness crud. I want to get rid of it for good. It is interfering with other things I need to be doing.
