Burn rubber … not your soul…

jamesBike.jpgWow, God provided a beautiful day out here in the middle of no where. So this afternoon…I went for a bike ride.

Started off ‘Lone Wolf’ style. Just mounted my bike and headed north. I arrived in Slayton – then decided I have been this way going to Lubbock a few times now. I wanted to explore uncharted territory. LOL

So I turned the bike around and headed southbound. Back through Post on to Snyder. I went to the Wal-Mart in Snyder (sorry Joe) and bought a new digital camera. While I was there Nick called and scolded me about not inviting him along for the ride. So I told him to meet me in Snyder, to which, he never hesitated and showed up about an hour later.

We ate lunch there in Snyder, and ran into a guy with work with out at the plant. He told us one of our other plants were on fire. We told him we saw the smoke, but was kinda unsure what it was. Please pray that no one was injured in this. I am sure I will get details tomorrow.

We then called our friend Kevin who lives in Jayton and rides a V-Star Classic with all the trimmins’. He met us at the rest stop at HWY 380 and Hwy 208. We rode back to his house to show his kids the bikes and fuel up. Then we took a long way around the north end of Salt Creek. Sorry I don’t have details, but I had no idea where we were until I saw the Salt Creek entrance near the end of the ride. LOL

From there we took a few pics, split up, and headed home. I think I did approximately 223 miles today. It was an awesome ride for me. I love the country out here. Going through some of the cayons (..or are they all called Cap Rocks???) and long stretches of highway. The new bike makes me feel like I could just keep on riding. My arms…they disagree. I did the short sleeve shirt thing….nice and sunny today …you know…get a little sun. My arms are SUN BURNED!!!. I think I’ll be ok, but I have to admitt….they do hurt a little.

Anyway, I put some pics up for everyone to look at. Click here – or look under the Clarksite gallery on the main page.
