A week in Andrews….is enough…

I just spent a week in Andrews, TX for a class on Advanced Operation of Digital (Smart) Transmitters and Digital Valve Controllers. They hosted it at our Andrews office, which is small, but very quiet. I drove from Lubbock to Andrews 3 days, but stayed at the Holiday Inn Express 2 nights. That made for a better day, although there was not much to choose from as far as dining was concerned.

The class was good, and I got to see some old friends, make a few new ones, and show off Red Yetti’s soon to be released app. Everyone liked it. I also got to do the normal ichat and FaceTime with the family. There is a video below of Kaden and I engaged in some FaceTime. LOL

I also noticed I was getting spam text messages on my iPhone. It was the astrology crap. Not sure where it was coming from, so I started doing some research. Here is what I did to stop it from happening. It worked. So I hope it works for you as well. AT& T does not make this easy to find – nothing useful is easy to find on their site.

SPAM text message

When you receive the message then copy it, and text it to AT&T at 7726.

You can Forward the message to AT&T 7726 (SPAM on your keypad)

Step 1 Copy the offending message

Step 2 Send it to 7726

Step 3  AT&T will thank you (via a text message) and ask for the Phone Number of the offending Sender to sent.

If the message is from a short code number such as 446-323, AT&T will advise to reply STOP to the original message. This worked for me, however I recommend you do the first steps as well – maybe it will stop this.

I have posted some pictures showing the process. Good luck!

Pasted the copied spam text and sent it to 7726.
AT&T replies with a message asking for the number, and then tells you to text STOP as a reply to the spammer
This is the reply I got after texting STOP to the spammer
