All roads lead to Kevin Bacon!

JoeWell, we had a good wedding for Joey and Jamie. Thought I would drop a post for all you nosey people to read. It is probably going to be long and sprinkled with many of my ADD moments. So I apologize up front.
First thing in the morning I put on the tux’ to make sure it fit properly. Can’t be looking bad ya’ know! It fit fine, and I must say it looked good on me. LOL, but ya’ll knew that. Right?

So then I called Joe. “Joe, we have a serious problem man. Nothing on this tux’ fits!”. “What? Are you serious?”. “Nope! Just wanted to stress you out a little more!”. Yeah I thought it was funny. Come to find out most of the guys did something simular to him.
I called Jamie to make sure someone would be at the reception location for me to set up the gear. I still need to get new gutar strings and a haircutt before the rehearsal. I got to help setup the reception while the other guys played golf….that’s what I get for living so far away…and agreeing to DJ. LOL

After rehearsal we all headed over to Joe’s to eat and visit. They catered fajitas, and some killer bana pudding. There were some weird people there who did not like bananas in their ‘banana’ pudding.????

So we started the story telling and discussion of SPAM.

Kyle made for some hilarious moments telling stories about how he only needs to be an inch shorter to be considered a midget and get a disability check. His idea to buy another motorcycle and ride it with his feet dragging until he wears and inch off his legs….wow! And there was more, but I promised not to mention his family. LOL

Then we fast forward to Wedding Day. I showed up at 2:00PM as I was told. I think April, kyleWade.jpgJoe’s neice, said she was there at 1PM! Joe and the others showed up around 3PM…a little late. We all looked good in those tuxes I must say. The ladies…yup… as always they looked great too! I got to walk with a hot chick, Liz…but Jayme made me promise to be good. Sooo, I was good.

The ceremony went good. Jamie started to cry a little during the vowes…and I had to hold back. LOL We did not have any big mistakes that I know of. I felt I did ok on the singing and playing. Of course everyone always tells you that you did a great job at church or these kinds of functions, but they never lie to you in a bar. LOL I did have a few that I think would have been honest with me there though. None the less, I really enjoyed getting asked to do that for Joey and Jamie. Thanks guys.

We then took pictures and then headed to the reception for a much needed ‘biscuit’. It was catered as well with BarBQ. It was fun to visit with everyone there that I did not get to talk to during the wedding. Rand was a little upset with my boring music, but he did find a few he liked toward the end when we were allowed to get the better music going.

A bunch of us stayed and cleaned up the reception area and then made plans for the rest of the night.

Chad, Summer, Wade, Erin, Kyle, Kenneth and I went over to Daniel and Marci’s house. We played a board game called ‘Battle of the sexes’. Yes, I played a board game…Yes I enjoyed the crap out of it, and yes I know I will catch crap from some people on this because I usually refuse to play board games.

With the exception of Kyle, Daniel & Marci, I really just met the others this weekend. All Joey’s old friends from the college days. We had a really good time. I was amazed out how the women…(the game is played via men vs. women) would answer a question by going completely left field and then pull the answer out of their butts. I was also amazed at how Erin told us she plays chess….I’ll leave that alone since my mom reads this blog often. LOL

I was a little frightened at certain points through out the night. For example, Carter (Daniel and Marci’s 2 year old boy) started bouncing up and down on my lap yealling “Whoa baby!”. LOL He was asked if learned that from mom and daddy…he answered “yes”. Hmmmmm Daniel?

Another frighting moment was how much Wade and Chad knew about makeup, womens fashion, eggplants, and Kevin Bacon.

The answer to any question you do not know should be answered with “egg plant” or “Kevin Bacon”… and I learned that all roads lead to Kevin Bacon. I’ll explain in person sometime…but it sure made for some really good laughs. Thanks to Chad and Wade for the knowledge.

All in all it was a great wedding and weekend visit. I can’t wait to see some of the pics. I hope I can get copies. I also, would like to get a copy of the video…I want to hear how bad I sounded, see how much we all swayed back and forth, and who all cried. LOL

Anyway, I hope that Joey and Jamie have a great honeymoon and life together. They both deserve it. I am in for a couple more days, so I hope to visit with my family and friends a little more before I head back. I’ll put some pics up when and if I get copies.

I’m off to study the Oracle of Kevin Bacon now.
