Whoo hoo for God!

Yeah I know..not much of a writer or anything so forgive me for the lame titles and all. Just wanted to thank everyone for their support during the last week and tell you about last night.
So please read on…

The band, New Son played the first East Texas area Youth Worship last night at Shawnee Prairie Baptist Church. At final count it was 215 youth singing praises to the Lord. It was a great time. Four gave their lives to Christ, and I think everyone had a great time worshiping.

The message delivered was straight and to the point, no pretty “tickle the ears” stuff. After the message was a few more songs then off to the volley-ball court and to the fellowship hall to get a quick bite to eat and drink before we (the band) had to start tearing down our equipment.

It was nice to see such a crowd on the first event, and we pretty much only told those churches around Huntington. So we are really looking forward to spreading into Diboll, Lufkin, Hudson, and Central areas. I was really moved by the particpation of the youth, the calmness of the youth ministers, and those that travled to attend with us.

I hope to find someone that may have taken pictures and get a few put up on the site. I did get a little of the service videoed, but seemed to run into a few problems right before the preaching started.

Well, goes to show that God shows us His comfort and love so graciously in our times of need if we turn to Him.

A very happy ending to a very sad week.
