Mac down

Well, my beloved macbook had a little problem this weekend. Friday night I picked it up to post some new pictures of the patio project and only half the screen was working. The other half was verticle lines of different colors. I know, I was shocked too – never had a problem with my Mac’s before.

I did some research and found I was out of warranty – should have bought the Apple Care. I also found that it will be around $800.00 for Apple to fix it. So, I looked around, and found a screen for $180.00 (shipping and insured). It arrives today. I hope to have it all back together tonight.

Speaking of which, I found a tutorial online on replacing the screen. It basically had me dismantel the entire laptop. Then as I approached the bottom of the tutorial, and was thinking this is nutts – why did apple do this – make it where you have to take everything off to replace the screen – no wonder they wnat $800.00 to do it…..—I find a comment from another user which reads – “This is not the correct way to do this. There is no need to remove the keyboard. Click here for better instructions.” What tha?

I went there – they were right. Now I have my Macbook in a million pieces. At least I know what it all looks like inside. I also found a few loose screws…tightened them up. So we’ll see if I can get it all back together tonight.

The patio is coming along nicely. I finished the staining this weekend. I also coated the cement part with the Rustoleum Gargage floor stuff. Looks pretty nice. I will sand the corbels this weekend and touch up the stain on them. Then I am going to price the roof covering and fencing materials I need to complete the projects in total. That way I am good to go for the winter season.

Anyway, if I get my Macbook back together tonight I will post some pics….if not I’ll use my wifes or my iMac. LOL

Later.
