Psychologist – name could be considered child abuse

Just a quick rant to get this off my chest and see if anyone else out there has any thoughts on this. So, I know everyone out there has heard a name of someone and thought ” wow, I would have never named my child that!”. What you did not know, is that the name you pick for your child could be considered child abuse, so choose wisely. LOL

Yeah, I thought it was stupid too, but my wife told me about the story on Fox news. I could not resist the fact of saying something about it on here.

I will say first, I don’t agree with the names this family chose for their children, nor do I agree with the Nazi way of thinking. With that statement out of the way, here is how the story starts.

A family went to a local grocery store to have a birthday cake made for their son and requested it say “Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler”. Now these folks in New Jersey are a little weird in my book, but since when does the goverment tell us what we can name our children. This is nuts!

The father and mother named their children Adolf Hitler Campbell and his sisters, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell. Yeah that is a little freaky to say the least. After their attempt to buy a birthday cake, someone must have called CPS and now the children have been removed from the home.

No I do not agree with naming a child after a freak, insane, murderous, idiot…but if someone does – that should be their freedom. What if the government decided that Christian based names were “child abuse”. I guess a lot of us would be in trouble.

What if you named your child Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna would that mean everyone i Texas hated your child? NO, I think not. What if you named your child Martin Luther, Dalai Lama, Vladimir Putin, John McCain, Hu Jintao, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, or Barrack Obama????? What then????

I apologize also, if I have bias against CPS and all, but when I was in Law Enforcement I worked a case where a 3 year old child had digested a piece of crack cocaine. When I arrived at the house with the EMS crew we found other drugs laying out on the coffee table and other “sexual” devices laying around. I made several arrests that day on several offenses. CPS was contacted, because of protocol, and after they surveyed the house and findings, they allowed the child to return to the home. What?

So, if you have a thought on this let me hear it, leave a comment. I just think this is wrong for the gov to tell people what they can name their children. They should have been able to name them whatever they want.

Anyway, this story reminds me of the old Johnny Cash song “Boy named Sue”. Here is the story on Fox News.
