Is anybody going to San Antonio or Phoenix… I’m there!

arizonaWell, I am in Phoenix for a while. Never been here before and it is actually kind of nice in a desert kind of way. The time difference slurps though.

I flew out on Sunday morning, so the DST hit me Saturday night. I lost an hour on that time change. Then I arrive in Phoenix to find I am two hours ahead of everyone. Whoa! Messed me up a little.

Also, Lubbock International gets the “Most gung-ho security award” again this year. Of all the airports I’ve been too – they are by far the most hardcore.

Everyone knows I have a steel rod and some screws in my leg. They freak out on that everytime….but add a Shure SM-57 microphone to your carry on and they will dang near take you down. LOL

They thought they really had something there – gun barrel – or something. They all started moving around asking me questions, and then opened all the compartments on my laptop bag.

I got a little mad, because I thought they were gonna tell me I could not have it. I also made sure the guy put all the stuff he was taking out of my bag back like it was. Last time they tore into my bag for a leatherman – which I ended up giving them since I had no check in bags – they left all my stuff on the table and in the little plastic tray.

Anyway, it was exciting.

Today was the first class day for the Honeywell training I am taking. I was impressed with Honeywell’s way of doing things. It is self-paced with instructors handy for questions. I finished around 3PM today and did 12.5 hours worth of material.  So that is all going well.

I am going to try and go to Sedona and the Grand Canyon this weekend. I will take pictures and post them. Everyone tells me Sedona is really nice….and I just want to see the biggest hole in the earth.
