Wow! Thank you all…

Just wanted to drop a line and thank everyone who kept me in their prayers about the job and all. It has been answered and I know it was because of the prayers offered. So here are the details…

At the close of the interview last Monday, they told me it would be a couple of weeks. Well, seems time is measured differently in West Texas, LOL. I got a call Thursday telling me it looked really good for me, and they had just emailed me some HR paper work that needed to be completed and returned to them. I completed, and emailed the paper work back to them by end of business the same day.

Friday evening I received a phone call from their HR department, which was a verbal offer for the job. I also recieved a Fed-Ex package containing more forms to complete, and the details of the verbal offer.

Let me just say this, for those of you whom I did not tell. The offer was a VERY nice one. Exactly what I had expected, now that I have thought about it, after speaking to Nick about the company. Nick works for them also….which I guess I could tell you the name of the company.

Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: OXY) is a world leader in oil and natural gas exploration and production and a major North American chemical manufacturer. Want to know more, you can find it at oxy.com.

I have had my application in with them for nearly a year. I have seeked God’s will in this, and had many people praying that His will be done in this matter. I did not want to loose a good job here at home for selfish reasons of moving to the Lubbock area. His will was sought, His people prayed, and He answered in His timing… and what a blessing it has turned out to be.

I am so happy, thinking of some of the fringe benefits that will come with this outside of the new job. The church, the band, … I could keep going. No really I could. LOL

So now I have a few small questions I need answered. Then I will return all the paper work to them. I will then get my physical and drug screening completed, and a date to start.

I have already began the house hunting, and will get with their relocation people Monday or Tuesday to see what steps I need to take. This looks to be a very nice company to become part of, and I am pumped! LOL

On a small note… tonight I watched Kicking and Screeming. Will Farell is a nut. Good clean moving, kids can watch it too. Then we watched Batman the Begining. It was the best of all the Batman movies.
Also, I bought me a new practice amp. Got tired of trying to lug around my gig amp and keep it from ear shattereing volumes. I got a Epiphone Galaxie 10. Nice little class A tube amp.

Anyway, I am making this post to late at night, so thanks for all the prayers. Please wish me luck, and when I move I will update you all personally with my new contact information.

Peace,
JC
