All by themselves!

imageThe wind is blowing pretty good this evening – at least by West Texas standards it is more than the norm. I decided I would go out a check on the chickens and garden.

I first noticed that I did not see any chickens in the run. As I made my way to the coop, I looked around the yard. No chickens. Could it be?

Yes! They have put themselves in the coop. Guess they did not like the windy evening. While there I decided to shut the door for the night as they were already roosting and had plenty of feed and water.

I was happy to see the garden is doing well at this point too. Corn, beets, and radishes are up. Onions are doing well. New pepper plants have survived the hail and wind they have seen in the short time they have been in the ground.

JD’s 90th birthday party will be Sunday. We will be attending that. Jace put together a little slideshow of pictures. I will post it soon, but don’t have it handy.

Until the next post. (…by the way the pics of the chickens are few days old…Kaden said we needed new pictures)
