Family, Friends, Christmas Eve and Fun!
This is one the best times of year for my family to gather. Food, fun, presents, and more. Happy birthday to Jesus!
Been in Lufkin a couple of days so far, met with the moving company to assess the moving situation. They said everything is still on schedule for the 28th & 29th. So that’s good.
The Afgan Daddy (my step-father) made it in from over seas a day before I did. It is good to be visiting with him and everyone. He and I went and did some last minute Christmas gift shopping together. The traffic in Lufkin is crazy. I grew up here, lived here for years, and I have never seen it this crazy. I had friends that stood in line at stores before they opened just to get that one gift or that super deal. LOL They’re crazy too!
Joey and I did some shopping too. He has been my caddy for the week so far. It works out fine though…he and I can gripe about traffic and all the people together while I walk around lost looking to complete my list of shopping. Unfortunately he was there when I bought his gift, but at least we both knew it was something he wanted. LOL Merry Christmas Joe!
I got all the kids a little something. Kelsey loves the purse I got her. Thanks to mom I knew where to find it and what it looked like. She was really excited. Jayme Lynn wanted a scooter…now this is funny because she has a gas powered 4-wheeler, an electric scooter, and now wants a foot powered on. LOL I lucked out, the foot powered was a lot cheaper! She loved it. Hunter got Madagascar game for x-box. Daddy got books, and is getting some tools for the new workshop, work bench, and tool chest mom got him. Mom got her favorite (and expensive LOL) perfume she likes…and it was wrapped by me LOL. Got a few other gifts for everyone, but I am done writing about that.
Tonight we opened gifts with Jimmy, Hunter, Kelsey, Aunt Jo, Uncle Ken, Jack, Jayme Lynn, Daddy, Momma, and I. Daddy and I played a few gospel, Christmas, and old country songs. Traded his guitar back and forth, since all mine are in storage or in Post. I did play the Dobro a little while he strummed away. I even had a couple requests for the songs I have written, which was pretty cool. I did not know they really paid any attention to any of my stuff. LOL Tomorrow there will be a house full again with the rest of the family. More food, more jokes and more fun!
I pray that everyones Christmas is as fun and full of family anf friends as mine has been so far. Well I think I am going to get off here and eat again, shower and play with my new gifts. LOL
Love ya’ll and Merry Christmas Eve!
