Immigrants Part II
I am not even believing this…well, yes I am, but I am trying to pretend it is just a bad dream. This immigration thing is getting more stupid by the day.
Raul Rodriguez says he doesn’t know English well enough to find the right words for the Arizona lawmakers who passed a bill targeting illegal immigrants.
Well, there is one of the problems…he does not know enough English to express himself. Well, that is bull crap! My question are: How long have you lived in this country Mr. Rodriguez? Are you a citizen? (Sorry, the articles did mention he was in fact a Californian. What the hell?) Do you not have access to free English classes? Free government assistance? Free, free, free here in the land of the free?
Mr. Rodriguez calls over his shoulder: “We’re going to fight, eh amigos?” The group nods.
Guess the group can’t understand Mr. Rodriguez, or they do not know enough English to express themselves.
“If you look at the history of California, you find that the experience of Prop. 187 galvanized the Latino vote like nothing ever,” says Rosalind Gold, a senior political director for the National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO). “It was the catalyst for some of the biggest voting and registration drives we’ve ever had and brought out Latino candidates into local and state elections like nothing before it.”
California voters passed Prop. 187 in 1994, but the measure was struck down by a federal judge as unconstitutional.
Thank God, the congress knows a little about the constitution.
“We’re angry. We’re going to carry signs. We’re going to march. We’re going to do whatever it takes to get pro-immigrant candidates into office and anti-immigrant candidates out of office,” says Rodriguez. “This is a mean-spirited law and we’re not going to take it.”
“Mean spirited law”? You are an idiot Mr. Rodriguez. Simply an idiot. The law is giving law enforcement the right (that they already should have) to stop and identify illegal immigrants with “reasonable suspicion”. Really? Mean spirited? Dumb ass!
Activists are certainly trying to turn the law to their advantage.
“Republicans have now created a new wave of Latino activism in Arizona, and we will see younger Latinos running for political office – on the side of the Democratic Party,” says Randy Ertill, executive director of El Centro de Accion Social. “Republicans once again have shot themselves in the foot.”
The anger and spirit of activism has spilled beyond Arizona, adds Jorge-Mario Cabrera, a spokesman for the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles.
“The political, economic, and legal battle we are mounting against Arizona’s SB 1070 … signifies a new level of political power we are demonstrating as immigrant communities in the United States,” he says. “Latinos everywhere are looking at Arizona and the Republicans who voted in favor of it and asking themselves if this is the kind of political party we should be aligning ourselves to.”
I am glad that some of you are getting active in voting – but really? Are following the rules too much to ask for? Never mind, I know the answer.
What you all are really fighting for is the free meal ticket, social security, and all the other rights you get by entering our country illegally. I mean it is not like we make you pay a large sum of money, change your name, or for ownership of your first born. You simply see “FREE” and not as in freedom, but as in FREE stuff. It is simply pathetic, dishonorable, and makes you all look like, well….freeloaders. This country won’t have a damn thing to give you a few years from now. The system is already feeling the impact, because of the other freeloaders that have found their way here illegally.
I pray that our nation, our President is guided by God to start fixing the problems we have on our borders. That alone will help with jobs, social security, etc. I also pray that anyone, and everyone that needs to reach this country, and if lead by God to be here has the common courtesy to go through the system and earn their citizenship.
Let’s drop the minority crap all together – end it – it is pretty well balanced – and I know of no other country that does it. If you are here legally you are an American. None of this Latino-American, Irish-American, Afro-American – just simply American. I promise that title alone is more than honorable enough.
All you people out there that think that cutting down on illegal immigration is wrong…first you’re all idiots, second…if you enjoy the freedoms this country has then think about how long they will be here when we just open it up to everyone….without some sort of system to go through.
…and to all the illegal and legal Mexican nationality folks here in the U.S.A I ask this one burning question:
If you are so proud of your country, your language, your customs, you national anthem, and want to fly your nations flag – then why the hell are you here in our country? Answer?
One more thing to note…you are not getting any of this country back.
