4B Ranch Wild West Rally

Eric and I rode to the 4B Ranch Wild West Rally this weekend. It was fun, and for a good cause, but one hot weekend.

We started our ride yesterday by riding down to Brownfield and registering for the poker run. By the time we left Lubbock, it was 104 degrees outside…Hot! There was barely a breeze, which is not like west Texas. We drew our first card and then rode back to the house.

I got called out to work twice, and finally got home to get some sleep. The next morning I thought I was going to have to go on in to work, but that changed. I was glad since I really wanted to ride down to the rally.

So about 9:30AM we headed to the first stop on the poker run in Wolforth, TX. When we got there, we had to draw two cards – due to a mix up or something. Then we headed over to Wild West Harley Davidson (Lubbock) and drew the next card. Hung out a while looking at all the things we could spend money on. LOL Then decided to go eat lunch. Joe’s Crab Shack was right there next door, so we took advantage of that.

We had about an hour before we needed to meet up at Sting’s (Lubbock) for the parade ride back down to Brownfield, so we topped off on fuel and then stopped by my house for a bit.

We met up at Sting’s and there were a little over 100 bikes. We all headed out and it was a good, slow, hot…really hot, ride toBrownfield. We had Police escort and the FMx (radio station) truck leading us. As we passed through towns, everyone would wave. I guess it was a kind of parade.

When we got there we already had our passes from the day before, so we just strolled on past the line like we were supposed t be there. LOL They had a band playing and some vendors. We did some walking around and looking. There were bikes, bikini girls, and lots of bikes. We found some really good ideas for our bikes. It is amazing what folks do to their bikes. Sometimes it is not all that good of an idea though.

Anyway, it was a good time, and maybe we’ll do it next year. Come on September…cool weather…
