Life

Get-a-way

Well, I made a last minute decision to disappear for a few days. Was gonna go a long bike ride, but I never changed the oil in it…so I decided to take the old Escape’.

I have been having some feelings of discouragement with the band and all. After this weekend and the worship that went on there…it really made me feel better. I am still in prayer about it, and would ask that you pray for me too.

We did not have a big crowd, not that it really matters, but we did have big worship. It was great to see how well the new members of the band did, and Mark…well that boy really expressed how it made him feel. He said that all he could do was worship. I saw him a couple times from the stage…he was back at the sound board….and he was enjoying it. That is what it is all about.

Nathan Louden did a great job as usual with the speaking. He is always a great guy to hang with. What else can I say, he is definitely following his call.

All went well at the show… even me getting punched by a little kid. LOL Really, this kid knocked the crud out of me. LOL

I also got to visit my family, and some friends. Everyone is doing well. Merron has a rebuilt heart….LOL he had a stint put in, and is doing well. Mom just turned 51, and is still as peppy as ever. LOL Joe – is still Joe. He is getting ready for the wedding in June.

I had the opportunity to take them out to eat at Ralph & Cackoo’s. Merron, Mom, Joe, Jack, Jayme Lynn, Aaron, Jude, Pepper, and Nick. It was a good time of laughs and eating.

So…..anyway – Mark rode back with me – he drove about half the way. Thanks Mark. I got into town. Unpacked my stuff, and decided to go for a ride on the bike. Was gone for about 30 minutes – just rode around Post area. I had a restless feeling of wanting to get a way for a while. Do something different and go where no one really knew me.

So the next morning I decided to get some things done around the house. Then it hit me. I think I will go to Oklahoma – to the mountains. I have talked to a girl from up there, so we talked and she helped me book a room in Lawton, OK.

I headed that direction. Got there around 7:00PM – unloaded my stuff in the room – met her and we went to eat. We got a couple movies ‘Cinderalla Man’ and ‘Walk the Line’. Nothing real exciting, but then we’re talking about me right? LOL

She left and I stayed up watching movies on my iBook until about 3:30AM. Oh yeah, I had a handicap room on the 3rd floor. They were booked up and that is all they had….but I am telling you that’s the way to go. The room was huge and the bathroom was the size of my 2 bedroom duplex!. LOL

So the next morning she calls me and asked if I wanted to go to the mountains and all. We met up and headed into town. We waisted some time going to music stores, truck shopping, ate, then headed to the mountains. It was pretty cool. I thought Oklahoma was ugly, but it does have a nice part once you get to the Witchita Mountains. LOL

We went up Mt. Scott. I climbed all over the darn thing until I almost could not breath. She popped some pics of me for the site. Enjoyed it. The pics can be viewed at my .Mac account ( http://web.mac.com/clark.james ).

We went to the Holy City, which was pretty cool. Has a neat history behind it, but this is getting long and I am about to leave for work….so look it up.

Other than that, we came back, ate, and I did some grocery shopping and also found me a new ‘Salt Creek’ size lunch pale. Loaded up the Escape and headed south bound at around 10:30 PM.

4 hours, 109 deer, 2 energy drinks, and a half a can of Copenhagen later, I made it back to Post, TX. I stayed up cooking my lunches for the week ahead. Packed them in the fridge, done some laundry, cleaned the house, and then crashed while watching ‘Walk the Line’.

So for all of you that were trying to call me and wanting to know what the crap happened… there it is in a nut shell. ….Hmmm from a nut!

I had fun, got to see some awesome country side, (even if it was Oklahoma) and meet a new friend.

Off too the creek for 12 hours now….later,
James

I think it is amazing how many are focused on the ‘girl’ that is not in the picture here. LOL Or should I say…that has no picture on the site. Anyway, my predictions were correct… Love it!

So, Mr. Clark inquiring minds want to know, what was your predictions?? And was there really a girl? And did she at least look better than the buffalo?

  • jclark

Mrs. Scruggs – I am not sure what you mean by ‘my predictions’ – I had no motive except to get a way. Now as far as the girl and the buffalo — hmmm I’ll never tell.
