New shift at work, and I’m tired. LOL

meBike.jpgWell I completed my first four days on night shift, and now I’m off for four, then I go to day shift four days starting Thursday morning. LOL Wow see just typing that made me tired.

So anyway… the job is still going great. I think I am going to like this new schedule. Gives me a chance to go do things during the week as well as weekends. Seems like it is a little less routine. I still need to get used to the shift change stuff, but I figure I’ll get it by the end of the month.

I am learning a lot more at work with this shift as well. More time, little slower pace on nights, and gives me more time to ask questions and walk through stuff. So all in all it is good. Oh yeah… it helped the pay go up some too. LOL

I did an oil change on my bike yesterday. It only took about 15 minutes to do. Except for the fact that the factory oil filter was screwed on so tight I could not get it off. Had to run to town and get an oil filter wrench, which I will probably never use again. I replaced it with a K&N oil filter which is smartly designed to have a 17mm nut on the end of the filter. This allows the use of a normal wrench for removal when you can’t get a grip on it with the old hands.

I went with Amsoil Synthetic too. I have been researching this for a while and it seems to be the best oil out there. I want the bike to last a long time and keep running like new, so I am using the K&N air and oil filters. Trying to research everything before doing anything. LOL

Oh yeah, I had the bike up on wood blocks (2×6’s stolen… I mean… borrowed from a construction site behind my apartment). I did this to make getting under the bike a little easier. Well since I don’t have a nice driveway (I live in the projects LOL) I was doing this in my back yard. The wind was up a little….and I turned to pick up a wrench…turned back around to see my bike falling. Yep, this has happened a lot to me. I am just glad I don’t lay them down while going 80 mph. LOL Go ahead boys, get a laugh on me.

Once I stood the bike back up, I started checking for scratches. Seems the engine guards took all the abuse, and kept anything from getting scratched. I was so thankful. You can’t even tell it has been dropped. Lucky me.

I went out to Lake Alan Henry. It is about 20 miles from where I live. I have never been out there, but heard about it. Even before I moved out here I had a conversation with Dennis H. (my old boss from back home) about it. ((Oh yeah, it was good to see you Dennis when I was in…wish we could have visited a little longer though))…. OK enough ADD.

So I took a bike ride out there. Pretty nice. I took the opportunity to take some pictures while there. Some are of me and my bike…I swear I am in love with myself or something…I ordered prints from iPhoto. I plan on sending them to my Grandpa Jim. He used to have a nice motorcycle back in his younger days. I want him to see mine. Plus…it might be nice to see if they still remember what I look like. LOL

All you other people can see the pics here on my .mac account.

Later,
