SFB rocks!
Wow! It was good to spend some time with a few old friends and hear some good music. I wish everyone could have been there. The boys from back on the East coast (…of Texas) rocked Lubbock tonight at the Blue Light.
They got to Post around 4:30’ish and I met up with them to help get to the Blue Light and unload the gear. After setting up and a sound check we went for a bite to eat. It was a good time to just hang and do some catching up. I was pumped that they came out to West Texas for some shows. ’bout time!
I promised not to post everything that we conversed about…like who’s mom was with Jerry Jeff Walker in the back of someone’s mom’s car…. uhhh yeah I said I would not talk about that..LOL I am also sure they will not say anything about the senic route I took to get them to Wal-Mart to get some sweat bands….LOL Hey we got there ok? It was some good times.LOL
I was designated by the crowd as Band Promoter….and I guess I was….but not ’cause of the pay! ok ok maybe the free drinks and T-shirt talked me into it! LOL I just think these guys are good…no I know they are…so I feel I need to make sure everyone is happy and enjoying themselves.
So to all my new friends in Lubbock…even you girls from Maryland, Virgina…and the guy that was with you from Canada…who all came out here just to attend Texas Tech…. you guys rock! Hope to see ya’ll again soon.
To all of you who did not show up….you’re all losers getting a second chance. August 3rd @ the Blue Light in Lubbock….they’ll be back. So be there….this is plenty of notice to take off work, drop the kids off at Grandma & Grandpa’s…etc. etc. So be there!
I am gonna cutt this post short, since I want to eat, shower and then hit the sack…going to the night shift starting tomorrow night…. I will say post one more thing,… make sure you check out southfirstband.com and myspace.com/southfirstband …. that way you can see when they’ll be near your town and check out their tunes. If you are afraid to go by yourself….call me… I will come to where ever you are and where ever they’ll be… hold your hand and show you some good Texas style country!
To the band….guys I pray you make it home safe and look forward to seeing you again soon.
