U-haul convoy Lubbock bound!

We’re halfway to Lubbock for good now. This weekend was action packed with moving Jace out of her house and to Lubbock. We got all her stuff in storage and in the new apartment. Now all we lack is my crap in Post. That is the fun I’ll have this weekend.

I got to Andrews around 7:30 PM Thursday night. Friday morning it was time to start loading the truck. We rented a 26 foot U-haul. Filled it about half way and continued to pack everything in boxes. Juan, a friend from work, showed up Saturday morning to help me finish loading the heavy stuff….well he helped finish loading everything.

By the time we had it all loaded up it took the 26′ truck, a 9’x16′ trailer, a car dolly, and a car hauler. Nutts! LOL We had them all loaded up, strapped down and turned them north for the hour and half drive to Lubbock. Stopping to eat first on the way out of town.

We made it to Seminole and stopped for fuel. $60.00 in the 26′ truck, $90.00 in Juan’s truck, and $60.00 in Jace’s Tahoe. Good night that is a lot of fuel. LOL I just know I am investing in my retirement. LOL

As we pulled into Lubbock the truck I was driving…and pulling a car dolly behind…started this ‘dinging’ in the cab and the brake trouble light came on. Juan had called me saying he thought he saw smoke coming out from behind the truck, but once he got behind me…he never saw it again.

We pulled over to check things out – and find out where the new apartment was. (Yes, we rented one without evr going to see it.) The truck had sprayed brake fluid all over the car I was pulling – Jace’s Malibu. So I was a little nervous, but we did not have far to go. just prayed while I drove.

Got to the apartment, signed the papers, unloaded stuff there and it was off to the storage building. To shorten the story…we got finished around 11:00PM. It tool us approximately 14.5 hours to get finished. We were all exhuasted.

So, we have her stuff in Lubbock. The apartment is mostly set up and ready to live in. Now I am making plans to move my stuff up there this weekend. I will leave one bed, a matress topper, some clothes, and a couple guitars behind so I can live here until after the wedding.

I found this weekend that I needed a truck like something serious…so I may get one soon if everything works out fine. It is hard not having a vehicle of my own that can pull a trailer, or you can load a bunch of stuff in. I am looking at a Ford – of course.

Jace had a minor surgery today – won’t go into details about it – but she is doing fine. Thanks for all the prayers. With that said I will close by saying God really has been blessing us with everything we have going right now. He has reall kept it from being stressful, the brake situation with the 26′ truck…yeah that was Him keeping from getting bad, Jace’s surgery…and everything else that He has blessed us with. We are truely thankful.

I know if we make it through moving, wedding, building a new house, and moving again – into it – it will because He blessed us. I also know, after all that – won’t be anything we can;t handle. LOL

Love ya’ll – peace to the homies!
