Life and times of the Clark’s
W, w,w,well here’s the latest on the Clark household. We are nearing the completion of our new home and we’re excited to get moved in. There have been a few hang ups here at the end that is keeping us from closing on time.
We are far from satisfied with the kitchen cabinet job. So we’ve expressed to them that we will not close on the house until there are completed correctly and to our liking. I know, I know, “man they’re being idiots” or “who do they think they are”…well it’s not like that at all. I am sure any of you out there who were in the process of paying what we are for our home, would not be satisfied with the cabinets either. I am also sure you would want them re-finished. If not, well you’re the idiot….not us.
We were supposed to close on Oct. 3rd…yeah that would be tomorrow…or today…depends on when you read this I guess. LOL Now it looks like it will be next week sometime. I felt they were cutting it awful close when I told them I needed the cabinets refinished.
They have a lot of work before closing too…so I think they were jumping the gun a little. They have the cabinets, the tile back splash to re-do….they need to re-paint the interior and exterior (same crew did the cabinets LOL), they have to finish the sod and sprinkler system, fix the bent garage door, finish the fence, finish the alarm system and an assortment of other little touch-ups here and there. You can see they need to get busy.
Over all we are really happy with the construction of the home. We just want it to be nice work and satisfied before we close. I don’t think that is completely unreasonable….of course we’re the ones paying for it.
Once we close, we’re going to do some painting and work ourselves before we get settled in real good. Some faux painting, texturing, french doors, and other little jobs we have decided we will do ourselves. So, it will keep us busy for a while. That’s good though, we like to work on things together.
Jace and I got new vehicles also…we did some trading to down size and get a little better on the budget. Jace got a 2007 Ford Edge and I got a 2005 F150 Lariat 4×4.
Anyway, the wife, the kids, the fish, and I are all doing great! Until next time… look at the pics here: James’ Pics
