Life

Busy, busy, busy…a meaningless ramble…

Seems like we got extremely busy in our lives here lately. Actually I think it is because we have had house guest recently and it threw our norm off a little. Not meaning that in a rude way, just seemed to through us off schedule ya know?

So let’s see. What have we been up too…???

I played and sang an hour or tow Friday night for Doug’s get together in downtown Lubbock. It was fun. We did some song swaps and everyone had a good time. Saturday, Brice, Mark, Nick, and I played a ‘walk to emmaus’ south of Sweetwater in the middle of no where. It was a Methodist camp named Camp Butman. I made all kind of jokes through out the day with ‘Butt’ and ‘Man” in them. Mostly because of my sick sense of humor.

We had fun and rocked the place. It was somewhat weird to practice 4 times and then go play the show as tight as we did. I was really impressed with the control we all showed…..LOL especially me. Since I’ve gotten the my Marshall JCM800 back from Voodoo amps this is really the first gig I’ve used it on. It looked like overkill sitting on a 4 12 cabinet, but the volume is so controllable now it posed no problems. In fact on the last song, We are Yours, I was the one who had to, while playing, reach down and bump my volume up twice.

We just seemed to ‘gel’ really well Saturday. It was as if we had been playing those songs for years….when for the most part we had only played them maybe a handful of times together. Fun time. Ohh….byt the way I did not get back to Lubbock until 2AM. I thought theses church gigs would have you home by 10PM?????

Craig came out for an interview with Oxy. He was offered a job as a contractor working with me in IT Site Support. So that’s great for Craig. Now we need to get my brother a job.

Craig has been helping me in the evenings to finish my home recording studio projects. We’ve been building some of the treatments and have almost all of the ‘live’ room finished. Next we will go to the vocal booth and control room. We will not be doing the ‘rustic’ design in those rooms. They will, I hope have a very clean, rich, look to them.

Craig talked me into buying a Kreg Tools pocket joiner kit. This thing is amazing! Go to KregTools.com to learn more. Then go buy one!

My loving wife has decided for me to build a new kitchen table for her, and we’re going to build a custom closet system in our master bedroom closet. ….Just as soon as I finish my studio. LOL

Speaking of my wife. I have to tell a funny little story on her. I am sure it will not earn me any points at home, but will share the laughs we had with you.

Her father and I got into discussion on women with foreign accents. I mentioned I am weak when it comes to the Irish or Australian accents. So, my wife picks up on this and decides to have a little fun with it.

As we were getting read for bed, she looks at me and says “Good day mate!”. We both started laughing. When that had wore off and we climbed in bed, she rolls over and in her best Aussy rendition, says “Ya wanna see my joey?”. Man I lost it.

Anyway…you might have had to be there….but I am glad you were not.
