Hurricane Rita!

Well… all the family is in from Houston, Port Aurthur, Galveston, Dayton…and the areas south of Lufkin that will get the worst of things. Lufkin is crazy with stupid people…killings, etc. Thought I would make a post before the main part of the storm.

Hurricane Rita has yet to hit land, but when it does, if it continues on its current track, the eye of the storm is headed straight for Lufkin, say National Weather Service meteorologists in Shreveport.

Tempers are as short as the lines were long as motorists waiting for gasoline reached the boiling point when supplies ran short. Traffic backups drove some stranded motorists to fist fights. Though I have heard rumors of 4 dead in different incidents I was unable to confirm them at this time. Local news basically sucks, as do most of the local news web sources. So… I will have to give an update after I get confirmation.

We closed our Katy, and Conroe offices yesterday, and Lufkin office was being shut down at noon today. I was there a bit later, as were several others making sure things were in order for the worse. Better to be safe than sorry.

Around noon today the radio (KSWP) announced for evacuees to continue on past Lufkin. Lufkin was full….and “Stop calling 911 for directions and gas!” LOL I find it almost funny that people get so stupid in situations like these.

People threating people over gas & bread…we are not destitute yet! Slow down, take your time, and stop being stupid!

Anyway, I will update some more later tonight and all hopefully.
