NSB, Suzi Q, what’s up with me, and what’s up with you?

Sorry, thought I would try to be a poet. No luck! Just wanted to make a post about what’s been happening out here.

NSB is getting geared up for another show. A private birthday party type thing here in Post. We have the set-list made out and it will be split into two sets. The first being mostly our originals, then a short break, and set two will be mostly secular tunes. Everything from Pat Green to Bon Jovi. LOL It should be fun!

Given our last couple of practices, having a new drummer (Brice) and a backup bass player (Mark – Sound engineer), we don’t sound too bad. One thing is for sure, we have fun. We jammed for several minutes on a couple of songs just to have fun. It felt good!

Speaking of new band members; we had a call on our flyer for a female lead singer. The call was answered by ‘Suzi Q’! (No real names just yet….protect the innocent, ya know) ‘Suzi Q’ is 19, from Lubbock, TX and she sings great. Has the voice we were looking for. Something to make us stand apart from other bands a little. She also plays a pretty mean rhythm guitar, co-writes, and has a great attitude.

We recorded her audition and will be sharing it with the rest of the band for their input. After some discussion, we have decided to ask her to attend this weekend’s gig. That way she can get a better idea of what she is getting into. Looking forward to seeing if ‘Suzi Q’ and NSB can drive some worship together.

So, what’s up with me? Hmmmmm…. well everything you just read and work. Took an offer to teach Sunday school at the church. That will get me back in the groove of studying scripture with more detail and focus. When I taught before, it really helped me grow in my relationship with Christ. Please keep me and the band in your prayers, that God uses the band and me for His glory.

I have, un-intentionally, not been in contact with some of you. Just been busy trying to settle in, work, and the band is getting busier. SO please feel free to drop me a call or an email. Love to here from some of you. I promise I will reply.

Anyway, love not hate baby!
In prayer,
JC
