Home and the weather

I am glad to be home after being in Houston for the week. It was hot and humid as you would expect in Houston. While I was gone the weather was awesome out here in Lubbock. I did get to eat some cajun and asian food, which I don’t normally get to eat with the “flatlander” family. LOL

I visited Republic Harley Davidson while I was there, since the motel they suggested I stay in was directly behind the Harley

Shop. That was convenient. Not to mention the Pappadeaux’s that was within walking distance

as well. The HD shop was pretty cool. They had a lot of bikes and it was three stories, which was neat. I picked up a shirt and spent about an hour looking around.

Other than the visit to the HD shop and eating…I stayed in the motel and studied or worked on some web site stuff. I did not get much sleep…as I never do when in a motel.

When I finally made it home, I parked my truck on the side of the house – walked around to the front door and walked in. Kade was very happy to see me. He announced my arrival “Look, look, everybody! Daddy’s home!”. “Welcome home Daddy” followed with several hugs. It was nice to be home. Everyone glad to see me, and the same for me.

Keagan asked if I brought home any souvenirs for them. I laughed and said “no, the best thing you can get in Houston is a way out”. She did not understand. Speaking of Keagan, she is growing up. Her hormons are up and off kilter, and she gets moody. It is funny because Jace and her get into it a little now and then. LOL  In fact Jace and I rode up to the local Harley shop yesterday evening with Eric and his wife, Nancy. We decided to go have a bite to eat with them before heading home. When we did get home Keagan was almost in tears she was so upset about us not coming home. She wanted to spend time with us. LMAO We are home bodies. We never go anywhere anymore…we take a hour out and come back to an emotional little daughter. LOL This should be fun over the next couple years. Jace is a little upset because she is not cool enough anymore. LOL

Our local Harley shop had their open house and prize give-aways. I did not win anything – in fact George was the only person I knew who won something. It was a HD magnifying light…which he probably needed. LOL Jace bought me a nice helmet. She has been wanting me to have one when I ride, but…they are not cheap. We got this one while we were there because you could spin a wheel for a chance of up to 30% off. We spun, and got 20% off the helmet. Nice!

My helmet

The helmet I chose was after some talking with friends and looking over all the helmets offered now days. I chose the Men’s 3/4 Helmet with Retractable Sun Shield. Behind the clear face shield it has built in sunglasses…LOL It is made by HJC and branded by Harley Davidson. Polycarbonate shell featuring an Advanced Channeling Ventilation System, which allows for full front-to-back airflow to help flush out heat and humidity. One-Touch Integrated tinted SunShield deploys quickly and easily. AccuSight™ anti-fog face shield features optically superior 3D design, 95% UV protection, and anti-scratch coating. RapidFire™ shield replacement system for quick, secure tool-free removal and installation. SilverCool™ interior helps wick moisture and eliminate odors with removable, washable, antibacterial liner. Helmet bag included. Graphics on center front and sides. Meets DOT requirements. HJC, 3 lb
