Thanksgiving gone – here comes Christmas

Well, seems like now days as soon as Thanksgiving is over…every one starts planning and getting ready for Christmas. Guess we’re not the only ones. Jack and I are in the spirit too.
I’ll let you pop over to his blog for the details, but here are the lyrics to our newest Christmas time song. You can also here it by clicking the music link at the top of the page.

Southern Christmas Jack Clark & James Clark

Another Southern Christmas the snow here never falls
Yes we have a Santa I seen him at the mall
We don’t spike the egg nog we like our whiskey straight
Those men in tights you called elves, we just call ’em gay

Daddy’s down in Baghdad where Santa never flies
Momma’s in the kitchen cookin’ chocolate pies
All my brothers are in the back yard, shotguns by their sides
looking for them whitetails some say can fly

We’ll all gather round the fireplace, late into the night
pickin’ and singin’ songs about ol’ Christmas time
throw in some Haggard and George Jones too
then we’ll break out Bocephus and rock the house ’till 2

Daddy’s down in Baghdad where Santa never flies
Momma’s in the kitchen cookin’ chocolate pies
All my brothers are in the back yard, shotguns by their sides
looking for them whitetails some say can fly

It’s another Southern Christmas, our favorite time of year
Celebrate baby Jesus and the whole damn family is here
except the ones who’er over seas or still locked up in jail
from the last Christmas Eve we couldn’t afford the bail

Daddy’s down in Baghdad where Santa never flies
Momma’s in the kitchen cookin’ chocolate pies
All my brothers are in the back yard, shotguns by their sides
looking for them whitetails some say can fly

Love y’all Merry Christmas…uhh soon!
