Savage FCP-SR .308 WIN

Decided to upgrade the Savage FCP-SR .308 WIN. Have an XLR Element chassis with Tact-Lite butt stock on the way. Researched XLR, MDT, Drake Industries, several others.

Deciding factors were:
Cost
Built in USA
No need to buy new scope rings
No need to modify scope base
No need to modify for rails @ 3 & 9 o’clock
Gave the features I was looking for in the chassis system: Butt stock options, rails at 3, 6, 9 o’clock positions, QD mounts for my TAB Elite Biathlon Sling, and ergonomics.

The weight is not going to be much difference if at all I am afraid. Will confirm as this all gets mounted. Also, no color options (black anodized only). This just allows me to break out the airbrush next spring when it is warmer in the garage and Duracoat it with a pattern.

I have had the rifle for almost 2 years now. Very little time behind it though. I had another Savage FCP-K that was a tact driver. I traded/sold it to William. I am actually sighting that rifle in for him tomorrow at the range. Will try to update the journal tomorrow via the iPhone app.

Going to post information of the equipment and MSRP prices to keep a toll on things.

TAB Biathlon Sling (Elite Biathlon Sling)
Price: $200.00 – http://tabgear.com

SWFA SS HD 5-20×50 Tactical 30mm Riflescope
$1,499.95 – http://swfa.com
Leupold Mark 4 30mm Rings – Medium
EGW Picatinny Rail 1 Piece 20 MOA
Scope, Rings, and Base ran $1653.46

XLR Industries Element Chassis
Complete w/ Tac Lite stock $595.00 (see below)
$732.00 (including shipping, rails, QD mount) – http://www.xlrindustries.com

Killer Innovations Standard brake in black oxide. Brake has .980 diameter and is non tapered. http://www.shop.killer-innovations.com
Guess I got this when things were good. I paid $56.99 for it. I see it is not listed for $83.98.

Glades Armory Savage Tactical Bolt Handle Right Hand Black w/1.75” black knob – $54.99

That is approximately $3,146.43 for the rifle; not counting the sling. Could get into a custom setup for about that, though no scope, base or rings, etc.

The picture of the rifle is while the brake was shipping and with my older TAB sling.
