Everything Else,  Life

Summer is here – and it is hot!!

Well, been busy with work, work, and creating more work. The kids are glad that school is out. Kaden loves his day care, since they go swimming every Friday and some kind of trip every other day of the week. He has been to the Texas Tech Museum, pizza places, etc. Comes home everyday wore smack down. Several times, just as I am getting home from work he has come to me and told me “Daddy, it is bed time”. I take him upstairs and tell him a story and he is out. At 7:30PM. LOL
Keagan has had her friends over several nights a week, or stayed with them. Jace likes the idea that we are a hangout – I am still adjusting to it. I mean I don’t mind, but then again several young girls in the house can get on ones nerves. Quickly sometimes. They are all great girls, just the age thing they are going through – and I am old and crabby.

Jace and I planned this years vacation to the lake again. This time at the new place. We’ll spend a week there, then I am taking 4 days off following that to get the house in Andrews on the market. Once that is accomplished we are putting the house in Lubbock back on the market. Things have gotten in the way and this has taken long enough. We can’t wait to build out on the 3 acres we bought south of Lubbock. It will be nice to have a little wiggle room, a shop, a garden, and a nice back yard.

Speaking of backyard, Jace talked me into getting a pool for our backyard in the current house. It is an above ground but it works nicely and the kids absolutely love it. This should get them out of the house more often. She also got me to work on the patio a little more. I covered the top with 1×2 cedar boards for more shade (image at the top of the page shows what I did). It created better shade and dropped the temp by a degree or two. LOL  I hope to finish the banister rails and a little shade at the top this weekend. Then, if she’ll buy me the Big Green Egg I want – we’ll be in business.

While I was up on the roof putting the cedar down – I had shorts on. It was 104 degrees, but I did not figure my legs would get sunburned….but they did. Bad too. Tonight after work I am going to try the mustard method…pray it works.

On the flip side, Red Yetti LLC is doing great. We have a lot of work going on and some great things in the works.  I also recorded Christy a 5 track album for her mission trip to London. It is a Christian album and she sings great. All that is left is for me to get it all mixed down in time.

Anyway – can’t wait for vacation. We all could use a break. I will post something soon.
